Established in 1977, Gynecological Surgery is a member-level unit of the committee of Gynecological Oncology of Jiangsu Anti-Cancer Association and a former chairman-level unit of the Gynecological and Obstetric Branch of Jiangsu Medical Association. Professor Wu Qiang, the current head of the department and academic leader, is a member of the standing committee of the Gynecological oncology professional committee of the Chinese Anti-cancer Association, the standing committee of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Branch of the Chinese Medical Promotion Association, the standing committee of the Minimally Invasive committee of the Chinese Maternal and Child Health Association, the Executive standing committee of the Oncology Medical Department of Wu Jieping foundation, and the CSCO Gynecological Oncology Chairman of the Committee on Gynecological Oncology, former chairman of the Gynecological and Obstetric Branch of Jiangsu Medical Association and Medical Association and head of the group of cervical lesions, vice chairman of gynecology and obstetrics of Jiangsu Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine Society, young and middle-aged science and technology leader of Jiangsu 333 Project, member of Committee of the International NCCN Guidelines for Gynecological Oncology Diagnosis and Treatment, and several magazines Professor Wang Jinhua, the academic leader, is the director of the medical department of the hospital and the key medical talents at the provincial level. He is also the vice chairman of the Gynecological Oncology Committee of Jiangsu Anti-cancer Association. Professor Chen Xiaoxiang, the subject leader, is a member of the Standing Committee of Gynecological Oncology committee of Jiangsu Anti-cancer Association and a young member of the committee of Gynecological Oncology of China Anti-cancer Association.
There are 74 beds in gynecology and oncology surgery.More than 4000 patients were treated and thousands of operations were performed annually. It is responsible for the fostering of gynecological oncologists in Jiangsu Province and its surrounding areas, and for the training of postgraduates majoring in gynecological oncology. There are 19 doctors in this department, including 7 chief physicians and 5 deputy chief physicians; 1 chief expert, 1 researcher, 2 professors and 2 associate professors; 11 doctorates (including candidates), 4 masters, 4 visiting scholars; 3 graduate tutors; 1 key medical talent in the province, and 2 young science and technology leaders in 333 projects in the province. There are 2 of the six top talent in the province.(Many scientific research projects have been carried out amorg which are , six provincial-level scientific and seven department-level . What’s more, numerous prices have been achieved including 2 provincial ones for scientic and technological progress,
2 municipal ones as well as 5 ones for introducing new medical technologies. What’s remarkable is that nearly 20 SCI papers have been published. In addition, two national conferences and several provincial annual conferences of the Chinese Gynecological Oncology Branch and the committee of Gynecological Oncology of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association have been held here.
The Department has reached the international advanced level in the early diagnosis and treatment of gynecological malignant tumors. The Department has three-dimensional laparoscopy, high-definition laparoscopy, ultrasound scalpel, LigaSure and other advanced surgical equipment. With LEEP technology, advanced PET/CT, CT, MRI and ECT inspection equipment as well as linear accelerator and back-mounted radiotherapy machine in our hospital, in the comprehensive such as examination, surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and biological therapy for vulva, cervix, ovary and pelvic malignancies in the early and late stages and precancerous lesions as well, remarkable results have been achieved.
In the treatment of cervical precancerous lesions and cervical cancer, LEEP is performed for cervical precancerous lesions, which can block the development of cervical precancerous lesions to invasive cervical cancer in time; extensive or sub-extensive hysterectomy, pelvic lymph node dissection and laparoscopic surgery are performed for early cervical cancer patients. New adjuvant chemotherapy combined with surgery and radiotherapy is adopted to achieve radical therapeutic effect for local advanced cervical cancer. The 5-year survival rate of early patients can reach come uo to 90%, reaching the international advanced level. For young patients, ovarian transposition is performed by laparotomy or laparoscopic surgery to preserve ovarian endocrine function.
For the diagnosis and treatment of ovarian cancer, the combined detection of tumor markers, reasonable implementation of cytoreductive surgery, determination of drug sensitivity of ovarian cancer cells, combined application of chemotherapeutic regimens and biological targeting therapy can improve the survival rate of ovarian cancer patients after operation, and which can reach more than 50%. For young patients with ovarian germ cell tumors, conservative surgery combined with sensitive chemotherapy is used to preserve the reproductive and endocrine functions of patients, so that they can fulfill their strong desire to have children. In the basic research of ovarian cancer, we have received sponsorship from 2 national and 3 provincial and departmental research projects. We have published more than 10 papers in SCI magazines and won 2 provincial prizes for scientific and technological progress.
In the diagnosis and treatment of endometrial cancer, positive imaging examinations are used to determine the depth of myometrial invasion and lymph node metastasis before operation. Laparotomy or laparoscopic surgery is used to perform staging exploration to remove uterine appendages, para-abdominal aortic lymph nodes and pelvic lymph nodes. These treatments combined with radiotherapy, have effectively reduced recurrence.
In the treatment of vulvar cancer, we initiated three-incision laparoscopic inguinal lymph node dissection at home and abroad, and phased out the large incision operation. As a result,the first-stage healing rate of the inguinal incision has been significantly increased to 98%, and the quality of life of the patients has been effectively improved on the premise of guaranteeing the quality of operation. Recently, clinical studies on inguinal sentinel lymphadenectomy have been carried out, and the exact location of the sentinel lymph nodes has been found first in the world, which provides a powerful anatomical basis for the popularization of inguinal sentinel lymphadenectomy. More than 10 papers including SCI articles have been published on new surgery for vulvar cancer. Three provincial first prizes have been awarded for the introduction of new technologies.
Over the years, we have actively organized and hosted the national and Jiangsu provincial congresses on gynecology and obstetrics and gynecological oncology. In 2017, we hosted the National Congress on Gynecological Oncology of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association (2017.9.7-10, Jiangsu Provincial Conference Center) in the name of the Women's Tumor Committee of Jiangsu Anti-Cancer Association and Jiangsu Tumor Hospital. We invited Professor Quinn, President of Tumor Society, Academician Zhan Qimin, Peking University and some other domestic and world prestigious exports to give lectures. And in return, we imparted advanced methods and technologies on the diagnosis and treatment of gynecological tumors.
